WHERE TO EAT: TARTARUN MALTA

2017/10/17

Hey there!
You have no idea how excited I am to be able to finally share this post with you.
While staying Malta, I got the opportunity to visit this fishing village called Marsaxlokk and have dinner in one of the best restaurants in Malta - Tartarun. And let me tell you, the experience was amazing.
Me and my boyfriend were kindly welcomed and got taken care of for the rest of the evening.
I knew I wouldn't want to leave this place as soon as the starters began to arrive. Tasting a bit of cured seabass & anchovy `bruschettas', salmon `tataki`with sesame seed and cucumber relish, as well as prawn carpaccio. Topping it all with the local white whine from Gozo island. And that was just the start of our evening.

As the dinner went on, we got to taste oysters with lime, roasted seabass with mussel & fennel minestrone and braised greens, for the main dish - local king prawns. At this point, we were pretty much full and leaving this place and thinking of a way of how to get back to our hotel was the last  thing we wanted to do.
I was amazed by the variety of seafood I got to try in one night. We were very lucky to get a tasting menu and try as much as we could in such a short period of time. And yet, there is still an insane amount of dishes on their menu for us to hopefully try in the future.
But the food wasn't the only part of this experience that made it so special. Everything from design and vibe to the kindest staff and professional service of this place was amazing.
So if you are ever visiting Malta, I honestly recommend you trying out this restaurant. Especially if you are a fan of seafood, because everything they do there is 100% fresh as they have all of the conditions to source fish daily.

Thank you so much, Tartarun, for having and treating us that well. You have definitely made our trip to Malta more special and memorable.

"Tartarun offers quality cuisine in a casual atmosphere. The family run establishment offers a menu that uses fresh ingredients to create delicious local dishes with an international twist. The main focus is local fresh fish which is sourced daily."
